Meeting in Wairoa - 8th August 2024

A meeting organised by Grant Shand in Wairoa on the 8th August 2024 was attended by over 100 people.

The meeting was an opportunity for property owners to get information and ask questions.  No one from the Hawke's Bay Regional Council attended.  

Some of those who attended have had scopes and costings done for the work required to remediate the flood damage.  Grant Shand emphasised that it is essential to get these scopes and costings completed now while the damage is fresh.  

The consensus view at the meeting was that the Hawke's Bay Regional Council was at fault for the flooding damage and that people are keen to progress claims.
