Grant Shand
Grant is the principal at Grant Shand Barristers & Solicitors. He is a litigation lawyer with more than 30 years litigation experience. Grant has particular expertise in insurance law having worked for law firms that acted for insurers in New Zealand and Australia as well as acting for insured people in New Zealand for many years.
He has spent the past 14 years primarily acting for home and business owners on earthquake cases from the Canterbury earthquakes. He has handled the most earthquake cases of any New Zealand lawyer. He is currently involved in 2 certified class actions against EQC and 3 other upcoming class actions. He is counsel on a class action against the Bay of Plenty Regional Council for floods in Edgecumbe in 2017.
